The eight pounds of Wisconsin delicacies stood no chance in front of Joey Chestnut.
Chestnut devoured a combination of brats, cheese curds, sauerkraut and a Bavarian pretzel in front of fans at the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers game on Friday in less than 10 minutes. The Timber Rattlers are honoring German heritage with Bratoberfest Weekend, wearing uniforms that say "Wisconsin Brats."
FOX 11 had a 1-on-1 interview with Chestnut before the competition, asking how the technique differs for eating brats compared to hot dogs.
Of the four foods, Chestnut said it was the cheese curds that concerned him most, remembering a time he lost cheese curd-eating competition at the Wisconsin State Fair.
Chestnut competed against two pairs of contestants, who each had to combine to finish the platter before him. Two lucky fans were drawn out of the crowd of 200 to compete with representatives from 95.9 KISS FM and Salmon's Meat Products.
Chestnut took time to meet with fans, and even players from the visiting South Bend Cubs before the game.
But once the competition began, his opponents stood no chance.
Like a kind visitor, he saved room for a victory beer.
