Duke Divinity School hosted a retirement lecture April 30 by Dr. Joel Marcus, professor of New Testament and Christian Origins. The lecture was titled "Thoughts on the Parting of the Ways Between Judaism and Christianity."

Marcus is retiring at the end of the Spring 2019 semester after joining the faculty in 2001.
