I learned this lick from transcribing Joe Pass' guitar solo on the jazz standard "The Days of Wine and Roses" off his 1963 "Catch Me" on capitol records. The line fits over a the common ii V I chord progression, and can be transcribed to any key. It is also a great way to practice using the altered scale over dominant 7th chords. The full solo is available on my channel, as well as a transcription written in both standard notation and guitar tablature is available for free at the link below:
