Joe Burud is a graphic design artist turned cartoonist with his new Roman Catholic comic strip entited, 'Father Alvaro Comics.'

Burud talks about how his personal comic strips meant for his father and brother eventually launched a Christian based cartoon focusing on the humor, beauty and challenges of parish life in the midwest. All the characters are fictionalized.

We talk about the moment where he decided to launch the strip, the division between Traditional Latin Mass and Novous Ordo, as well as the humor within Christianity.

As an Eastern Orthodox Christian, I also tease Burud in how could his Pope possibly be infallible, if he's a Chicago White Sox fan.
