In between job scams, thousands of applications for each legitimate position, and poorly justified layoffs, skilled and accomplished game devs are finding this the worst time to seek a job in the industry.
What options are there? What do you need to beware of? How can you prove your abilities and stand out to employers? What alternatives do you have to traditional jobs?

Allyssa A Lewis. A veteran SIEGE speaker, creative strategist, recruiter, and pPrime-time television EMMY-winning Animator, Allyssa has a record of getting creatives hired more than twice the rate of the US national average. With nearly two decades in the animation industry, she is most noted for her work with Netflix, Apple, NBC, FX, PBS, and Discovery Channel. As Founder of My Animation Life, she empowers companies and individuals with the teams, resources, and education required to navigate the digital entertainment industry.
Victor Martinez is the CEO and founder of Hunu Interactive, where he's building the tactical PvP game Tectonic Tactics and a developer-first publishing model built on the belief that indie studios need partners who work with them, not publishers who write a check and disappear. Over nearly two decades in games, he climbed from QA to leading teams of 35+ at companies including Zynga, Machine Zone/AppLovin, and Product Madness before launching his own studio. He knows what makes someone worth hiring because he's had to bet on people at every stage of that climb.
