Joanna Dong, a household name, was selected to perform for this year’s National Day Parade, much to her delight. But two months prior to the big show, she was informed of her cancer diagnosis, followed soon by surgery. Determined not to miss the opportunity to perform on the big day, the singer fought hard mentally and physically to get herself back to the national stage for the annual nation-building extravaganza.
