How does what we know about the changing demographics of Imperial Rome inform our understanding of the rise of Christianity within it, the importance of the Chaldean oracles as a "bible" for neoplatonists and the apparent ignorance of pagan theology displayed by Saint Paul when he delivered a sermon at the Areopagus in Athens?
