I had the honor of bringing my Singapore Slingers to a very special party honoring 63 WWII veterans - @AmericanAirlines and @BestDefenseFoundation held a big send off party on Thursday December 2nd, and the following morning they flew them out to Hawaii for the 80th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. Of the 63 veterans, 13 were over 100 years of age, and 6 were Pearl Harbor survivors.
When we started up Benny Goodman's arrangement of Jingle Bells (arr. Spud Murphy), three of these gentlemen couldn't resist the dance floor - I put down the baton and picked up the phone... no way was I going to miss this moment. They still got it!
