Join MA in Science Writing Program Director Joe Fassler as he hosts alumnae Thalia Patrinos ‘21, Madison Tuttle ‘21, and Andrea Lloyd ‘25 on May 12 at 8 p.m. ET for a discussion on their individual and instrumental contributions to – and out-of-this-world perspectives from – their roles on the NASA’s Artemis II communications team.
The record-breaking Artemis II mission launched on April 1, 2026, as a 10-day flight around the moon, sending its four-member crew further into space than any other human beings ever before.
Patrinos, a communications strategist at NASA based in Washington, D.C, leads the social and digital communications across the audio, video, and AR landscape for all Artemis missions.
Tuttle, a public affairs specialist for the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida, coordinates external communications, including support of the Artemis program missions and was on the Artemis II recovery ship at splashdown.
Lloyd is a contractor though Barrios Technology, a long-standing engineering partner supporting NASA missions. In her role as an associate science communications specialist for NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, she has worked on a number of Artemis II exhibits.
