The JFK Eternal Flame in Forest Park in Springfield is one of four in the US to honor the 35th President. It was lit on Nov. 22, 1964, the first anniversary of his assassination in Dallas, Texas. Beethoven's restrained yet bright, Moonlight Sonata is used for the music to this slideshow which features highlights from JFK's life and photos of his eternal flame in Forest Park 2:41. Also seen is the zoo which first inspired Dr. Seuss (Ted Geisel) to write his famous children's books 3:59, and the dinosaur footprints preserved nearby.
