MAY 2023: Dougal, Ted, and I joined our friends Andi and Petra in their Bürstner Motorhome for a few relaxing days in the Isle of Mull.
We kick off with the ferry sailing from Oban to Craignure with Caledonian MacBrayne, or CalMac Ferries. calmac.co.uk
We stay at Fidden Farm Campsite in Fionnphort: fiddenfarm.co.uk
We decide on a couple of daytrips, the first of which to Iona where we take the ferry from Fionnphort to Iona. Iona is the place where St Columba brought Christianity to Scotland. Once in the island we take a nice walk before exploring Iona Abbey and then Iona Nunnery.
The next day we head to Ulva, but were surprised to find that there was no ferry on a Saturday, which is not mentioned on the website (you have to look on Facebook instead which is not convenient if you don't have a Facebook account.) https://www.ulva.scot/
If you ever visit Scotland, do take the time to visit the Isle of Mull.
