This week we camped at Mountain Park campground in the Poudre Canyon which is part of the Arapaho & Roosevelt National Forests located near Fort Collins, Colorado. The cost was only $32/night and views are rindonkulous (you are right next to the Poudre River). This is one of my favorite rivers in Colorado to kayak.
Learn about making coffee with a Jetboil flash boiling cooking stove system and why I think it's better than a Keurig. The Jet boil is faster, smaller, and more portable since it runs off of propane. I also take a hike up the nearby Mount McConnel trail which is a moderate 5.2 mile loop and gains about 1,400 feet in elevation.
The campsite is electric-only (site 19), so we filled up the water before leaving. You can also get water at the site and carry a 6-gallon jug around.
