And behold, a woman of the city, who was a sinner, when she learned that he was reclining at table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment,
and knelt at his feet. She was crying and washed his feet with her tears. Then she dried his feet with her hair, kissed them over and over again, and poured the ointment on them.
But when that Pharisee who had invited him saw, he thought within himself and he said, “If this one were a Prophet, he would have known who she is and what her reputation is, for she is a sinner woman who touched him.”
And Jesus answering said to him, "Simon, I have something to say to you….'"
"Two people owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty."
"When they could not pay, he cancelled the debt of both. Now which of them will love him more?”
Simon answered, “The one, I suppose, for whom he cancelled the larger debt.” And Jesus said to him, “You have judged rightly.”
Then, turning to the woman, he told Simon, "Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You didn't give me any water for my feet, but this woman has washed my feet with her tears and dried them with her hair.
Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment.
Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little."
Then Jesus said to her, "Your sins are forgiven…."
And he said to the woman, "Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace."
