This is THE BEST definition of boundaries I’ve ever heard (and I’ve heard many). Here is the transcript: Boundaries are making choices that reflect you having a relationship with yourself that's healthy. It’s being your own best friend and advocating for yourself and knowing that you're not doing someone a favor or doing any sort of charity by making a concession and a decision that has to do with them that doesn't sit right with your spirit because ultimately it's going to feel like you're going to have resentment towards them and then you're doing a disservice to both of you. You're cheating yourself and you're cheating them from an honest relationship with you. So it's in everyone's best interest for you to be honest and treat yourself like your own best friend and set boundaries so that you don't turn into an asshole with them. You could be the best version of yourself when you have boundaries.
