FROM KENNNETH TYNAN'S DIARY: "At the Olympia: Jerry Lewis opens to a tout-Paris audience including Aznavour, Bardot, etc. His finesse, his daintiness, his delicate mimetic skill are riveting: cleverly adapting his act so that it avoids language (he speaks no French) and focuses on mime, song, gesture, dance and miming to music, he shows a command of vaudeville techniques such as I may never see again and such as this audience has probably never seen before. Miming to a thirties big-band record, he transforms its snarling riffs and growling trumpets into a bar-room brawl--brilliant!"
