What you see is what you hear: The audio signal is fed into a software oscilloscope in XY-mode, where vector graphics are drawn with sound. This is done twice, with slightly rotated images for each eye, i.e. four audio channels have been used. This video is in stereo because YouTube doesn't support 4-channel audio.
