About the speaker
Jenny has a PhD in human development and family studies at Iowa State University and is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Waisman Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison. She will be joining the Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders at Children's National Hospital in fall 2022. She also serves on the Department of Health and Human Services' Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC) as a public member (2021-2024) representing on the committee as an autistic self-advocate, mother, and researcher. Her other appointments/volunteer services include a) Executive Secretary on the Psychology Interest Network at the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and b) Early Career Committee Member on the American Psychological Association Division 33. Jenny is interested in studying the adolescence experience of neurodiverse youths as they transition through puberty and how it relates to mental health, and she is also interested in early puberty and sexual health education strategies and its impact on neurodiverse and gender diverse youths' mental health and relationship with their caregiver.
