The more people we can inspire to care about Ross, the better off we’ll be. Ross is an idealist, a young man who longs for more a peaceful, beautiful and just social order. Everything about his life points to this.
This isn’t just about Ross but about freedom. From an historical point of view, to care about the imprisoned is an essential precondition to the defense of an establishment of liberty in the world. We must work for justice and not forget about those who are imprisoned. If we forget about them we won’t be free very long. The imprisoned live, breathe and have souls. Progress of civilization depends on caring about cases just like this. It is the most important thing you can do. That Ross was singled out and made a political example of, is a serious problem. You can contribute to making it a more free world with your support.
These injustices slow us down but can’t win in the long run. The fact that we can come together like this, in this moment, is wonderful. In the past, people couldn’t do that, they had to accept their fate. Now we have tools, technology, and passion for the freedom to speak out and fight back. Despotism can’t survive grassroots pressure to have our own media, conversations, communities, etc. It can slow us down, but I’m very optimistic about human freedom. It’s never a clear path, there’s a lot of bumps along the way. There are people who truly suffer for that progress. But we can build the future that’s in our heads, the ideas we hold.
