Yayyyy new fandom! I'm mad it took me so long to start watching Community, it's hilarious. Ok, I'm gonna rant a little here so feel free to stop reading this now haha.
Jeff/Britta are my OTP of this show, and from what I've seen online I'm in the very large minority. That's so weird for me cause usually I ship all the standard endgame couples in shows lmao... so this is a new experience for me loving a couple that not many other people seem to! It makes me sad lol. So over the past few years I had seen a bunch of Jeff/Annie vids and they seemed like the most popular amongst my subscriptions, so I kinda went into this show assuming I'd ship them... I was wrong.
I was so surprised that the show/the whole study group actually all started because Jeff wanted to hang out with Britta, the "hot blonde from spanish class". I was like, "oh ok maybe this will be like a HIMYM situation where they'll be the focus for a bit but then later I'll prefer Jeff/Annie".... I was wrong again.
THESE TWO. ugh I just couldn't shake them. In my opinion they have way better chemistry than Jeff/Annie, and their story has been much more natural and, I hate to say it, (sorry Jeff/Annie shippers!) they actually have more real moments together rather than just fantasy sequences and scenes from a timeline that's probably not really the present.
Jeff and Britta make so much sense to me... they have banter in literally every episode, they're playful and fun with each other.. but what really gets me is how real they can also be and how well they understand each other. They honestly remind me so much of Barney/Robin. Jeff and Barney are both these huge womanizers, not wanting to settle down and both with daddy issues. Britta and Robin are both these Alpha-Female types that are really independent and don't like the idea of marriage or kids.
THEY JUST HAVE SO MUCH IN COMMON AND YET ARE TOTAL OPPOSITES WHO COMPLETE EACH OTHER.
They give me feels clearly haha I'm sorry I'll stop rambling now I just wanted to stand up for them since I don't understand why they don't get as much love as they deserve! ugh god I hope they're endgame.. It'd just make so much sense to end the show the way it began.. with the mom and dad of the group together :')
