I added these lights for trail visibility. Then I added a connection to the dome light circuit so they also come on any time the dome light is on (with the remote, or when you exit the vehicle). In order to make this work, you have to put a diode between the dome wire and the lights or lighting relay. The dome wire is yellow with a white stripe and can be found in the passenger-side kick panel. The diode should be a generic 1n4001 if you're going to use a relay (without a relay you may need a larger diode). The stripe goes towards the relay side, away from the dome light wire. The diode is needed so the dome light doesn't turn on when you manually turn on the rock lights with their own switch.
The LED lights are Hot System 12V 9W Eagle Eye, sold on Amazon for $20 for 12 of them. You drill a hole and insert it, locking it down with the included nut that threads onto the body. Easy.
The wire color and location applies to any Jeep JK, JKU, or JKUR from 2012 and newer. I don't know if it's the same for the older JKs.
