I'll try to answer the actual question in text: Failure is a teaching tool for every Jedi. They are markers for us to look at and work from. Absolutely failure helps make a better Jedi and person. Both in the sense of learning and growing in general, but also in dealing with setbacks. Developing a core understanding that "Failure is not Fatal."
Failure is part of the journey for everyone, but those that embrace that and use it as a stepping stone definitely achieve a more balanced life and outlook on life. They are better able to ride the waves of life.
