A Jamaica Defence Force member has been charged with unauthorised possession of ammunition.

The accused is **30-year-old Javaughn Howard**, also known as "Jay", of a St. Catherine address.

According to reports, three rounds of **5.56 calibre ammunition** were allegedly found in his knapsack during a police operation on Hamilton Drive in Gregory Park, St. Catherine, on August 10.

Howard was arrested and later charged.

A court date is being finalised.
