Vice President Vance is heading back to his Ohio hometown on Friday afternoon, as he looks to sell President Trump’s economic agenda to voters ahead of the November midterms.
Vance will deliver remarks at Cleveland-Cliffs Middletown Works, a steel plant where his grandfather worked for nearly four decades. He is expected to tout the administration’s efforts to boost domestic manufacturing and will be joined by Energy Secretary Chris Wright.
The stop comes as Republicans face increasingly competitive races in the Buckeye State. Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio), who was appointed to fill Vance’s former Senate seat, is facing former Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), while Republican Vivek Ramaswamy is running against Democrat Amy Acton for governor.
