Books on Toast | JCB Prize for Literature Discussion + #JCBReadingChallenge Winner Announcement @BooksonToast | Uploaded October 2018 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
For the last month we have just been eating, sleeping, thinking but mostly reading the JCB Prize for Literature’s longlisted books. And now the time has come where Anuya & Sharin discuss these 10 amazing books with you - tell you what they thought of it, who is on the shortlist (the announcement was made on the 3rd) and who they think and hope will win.
Comment below with your favourites. What did you think of the shortlist, who do you think will win. We're keeping track. ;)
We’re also super kicked to announce the winner of the #JCBReadingChallenge. Through the month, we encouraged you to read the 10 longlisted books and then guess who you think would be the 5 shortlisted books. Out of the 60 valid entries, the one who got it right is - Anupama C K (b0rn_2_read)! Congratulations! You're coming to Delhi with us.
About the JCB Prize: The JCB Prize for Literature is a Rs 25-lakh award presented each year to a distinguished work of fiction by an Indian author, as selected by the jury.
The Prize aims to enhance the prestige of literary achievement in India, and to create greater visibility for contemporary Indian writing. It has a particular focus on translation, and hopes to introduce readers to many works of Indian literature written in languages other than their own.
