Jayce's arc in Arcane overlaps beautifully with Iron Man 1, but with some key differences! Both stories are about the dangers of technological progress as experienced by celebrity inventors who take matters into their own hands. Obadiah Stane and Silco both function as the corrupt businessmen who want to steal Arc Reactor technology and Hextech for their own purposes, resulting in a confrontation between our heroes and their non-scientist foils--but to opposite end results. Arcane's handling of science and tech shifts the narrative slightly to pose different questions, deal with different personality flaws, and reach a different conclusion. Marvel's classic heroic tale finishes the story with a triumphant bang.
