"Show me those pretty white jaws"
Okay so I've been in a weird place editing wise the past few months and have been struggling to edit anything at all. I realized it was coming from a place of perfectionism and I was constantly worrying about wanting everything I make to be the best it can. I constantly felt bad about my edits like- "I know I can edit so much better than this, why are all my videos so bad"
So to get over that, I decided to start this project as a way to just edit. Just make something, if its bad, it's bad. So this was what I made. It's not perfect by any means, the scene selection could be better, the text could be more interesting, but I finally was able to make something.
I think forcing myself to just start a project and get it done (to a certain degree anyway, there was probably a lot more I could have done to this video) is a good step to moving past my constant worrying from the past few months.
I might make another project like this sometime down the line again. I want to spend next year trying to improve my editing even more, so I may do this again just to get myself out of a rut if I do fall back into negative thinking.
