For our latest issue, we traveled to Biarritz to take a closer look at the local scene. The area has a strong connection to the skate industry, and naturally, it’s home to many people who are or have been part of it. Javier Mendizabal is a household name in skateboarding and has been part of this industry for years. But after he left Barcelona and moved to France, his life changed from being on tour all the time to finally having the time to start painting and surfing. Now he’s spending most days in his studio or in the water. When we visited him, we also went to the concrete waves of Ramputene DIY in San Sebastián, where Javier met up with Bastien Duverdier aka Kēpa (who’s docu video you can finde here: youtube.com/watch?v=JWtJhiUmBfc).
