Java Star was killed in the first jumps race at Oakbank Carnival. He fell over the last hurdle and died instantly. On-course vet Harry Fraunelfelder stated in a press conference that Java Star died from a burst aorta moments before he hit the hurdle and therefore not a jumps fatality.
WE think he broke his neck on impact.
We'll let you br the judge.
Either way, Java Star has been killed unecessarily and jumps racing is to blame.
