For several years, all I had written down for this melody was the first 12 bars. The melody is based around the ascending note progression: E G A C, but I had problems trying to make the melody sound good (and not weirdly unmusical), while adding variations. One of those variations is turning the progression into A G A C, while still keeping to the original theme. At 1:51, there is a reference to Melody No. 8 with the use of the Amin7 chord.
