Have you noticed that the dragon Syrax has not grown much in House of the Dragon?
In the universe created by George Martin, dragons never stop growing big. Balerion the Black Dread kept becoming bigger and bigger until it finally died from being too obese to fly.
The dragons in House of the Dragon provide as more evidence for this, since Vhagar is the largest and oldest living dragon. However, its not totally reliable, and size is also influenced by other variables.
Compared to dragons like Sunfyre, Moondancer, and Vermax, Syrax is at least ten years older, although she doesnt appear to have gotten much bigger.
