About 1,200 years ago, on the New Year's Day of the 9th year of the Jogan era, one of the hot springs created with the eruption of Mt. Tsurumi is Umi Jigoku.
The name comes from the fact that the surface of the water looks cobalt blue like the sea.
The temperature is about 98 degrees, and the depth of the spring vein is said to be more than 200 meters. The reason why the spring quality is acidic and the surface of the water looks blue is because the hot spring contains a large amount of iron sulfate.
