The Asuka Period saw a drastic implementation of Chinese Culture in Japan, to the effect that Ancient Jpana, following a coup in 645, basically become a Chinese-style state. The Introduction of Buddhism also enabled the Japanese to construct a more centralized institution. This video takes a look at both, and the culmination fo Japan in what is usually known as the Ritsuryō State.
