Join us for an informative webinar on the impacts of atmospheric rivers on California's Central Coast. We will be discussing the atmospheric river that hit San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties on January 9th, 2023. Get a look at the science behind the storm, as well as its impacts on the people, region, and infrastructure of the area.

We will also discuss how a station that is not accustomed to hazardous weather can effectively cover events of this scale. While we will be focusing on the January 9th storm, we may also touch on the broader impact of atmospheric rivers on the region, including their effects on drought, aquifers, infrastructure, tourism, and other aspects.
