washcloths, coasters, hot pads, etc. I could also make something in acrylic yarn but the acrylic is getting slim pickings. I also have quilting cotton, thinking of making some reusable napkins, if you might like that as well. I am so bad at gift giving I need some ideas of anything else I could purchase.. you know, within reason :) I am leaning toward kitchen items since that is the bulk of my videos these days but I will consider any suggestions. The scarves are made with cobble stitch, sometimes also called griddle stitch. alternate sc and dc, ch and turn at the end of rows, when you come back across you put dc in the sc and sc in the dc.
The afghan is a 4 stitch wave....
chain multiples of 4 +2 begin working in 3rd ch from hook
row 1) *4 dc, then 4 sc, repeat from * across, ch 2 turn
row 2) *4 dc then 4 sc, repeat across((change color)), ch 1 turn
row 3) *4 sc then 4 dc repeat from * across, ch 1 turn
row 4) *4 sc then 4 dc, repeat from * across, ((change color))ch 2 turn
repeat rows 1-4 until desired length is reached.
you can do this same pattern in multiples of 5 or 6 (or more or less, just experiment to see how long you want the waves) It also looks great in just a few colors, I made on in red and black and it is very striking. No holes, a great afghan for people who don't like lacy hole-y crochet afghans.
