Capybaras are herbivores with a big appetite. They eat a variety of veggies including bell peppers and leafy greens, plus coastal hay and Timothy hay. During your next visit, say hi to our capybara family group or adorable duo, Pepa and Julieta.

Every time you visit the Zoo, you’re helping protect wildlife around the world. Your visit directly supports our conservation partners, @projetotatucanastr, in Brazil’s Pantanal region. Together, we’re helping save giant armadillos and other remarkable species that share their habitat, including jaguars, capybaras, and Baird’s tapirs.
