In 2025, the Japanese American National Museum embarks on a renovation of its Pavilion and an ambitious reimagining of its core exhibition, its most significant change since 1999. Work on this exhibition and other much-anticipated improvements will begin in January; the Pavilion will close on January 5, 2025, and reopen in late 2026. JANM however, will continue programming, in-person and virtually, throughout the renovation. On January 5, 2025, we will kick off JANM on the Go, the Museum’s lively schedule of special exhibitions, public programs, family festivals, education programs, and more on the JANM campus, throughout Little Tokyo, the greater Los Angeles area, Southern California, and across the US and Japan.

Join us for a multilingual storytime in English, Spanish, and Japanese! In this traditional Japanese folktale, although Issun-boshi is only one-inch tall, his bravery and wit take him on adventures both big and small! Presented as part of the 2021 Oshogatsu Virtual Family Festival.
