Janie Barnett is the self-titled first studio album by NYC singer-songwriter Janie Barnett. Consisting mainly of sparse, Cocteau Twins-esque vocal pop with the occasional brief attempt at a rocker, it's not much to write home about and is standard fare for the time. The track breaks are poorly done on this record, they're missing one on each side for some bizarre reason. The press quality however is a step above average and the inherently quiet nature of the songs on the disc keep it from disintegrating into a mess of inner-groove distortion and surface noise by the last minute. First play from a sealed copy.
