Duty Free has never been a place I've enjoyed spending time. Maybe I choose the wrong airports to fly to and from, overall though a rather disappointing experience. Meanwhile, over in Copenhagen airport, they've got some absolute wonders.
This was on offer, granted, but it set me back just under £30 a bottle for a product I already enjoy, with a pleasant twist, and it comes in a litre! I think that's a little silly, but take what you can get.
Regular Jameson's is typically matured in majority ex-bourbon casks, with a tiny amount of ex-sherry casks in the blend, too. This Triple Triple release, which I believe is one of three releases, is matured additionally in some ex-Malaga wine casks. This is already something that is present in the Yellow Spot release from Midleton, so they know what they're doing with these barrels.
I like how uncomplicated this liquid is. It's regular Jameson's with a twist of something slightly richer and fruitier. It's honestly delightful, and it's something that I'm happy to have in the house.
