One of the most striking rooms in @JamesMadisonsMontpelier is the drawing room. The vibrant red color immediately demands your attention. This room features paintings by Gilbert Stuart and John Vanderlyn. Most interesting is an original painting by Gerrit Van Honthorst called Pan, Youths, and Nymphs. This room was used by the Madison's to entertain guests and was described by Margaret Boyd Smith as a "museum of the arts."
