Superman (2025), directed and written by James Gunn, has finally hit theaters worldwide as the first theatrical release of the new DCU. DC as a brand has faced a rough few years, largely due to the missteps of the previous regime at Warner Bros. Including the failures of the DCEU and the later years of the CW Arrowverse. However, with the high praise Superman is receiving, there’s a chance the general audience could develop a renewed respect for the DC Comics universe. Superman stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific, and many others. This film could lay the groundwork for a future Justice League movie, potentially featuring Superman teaming up with John Stewart’s Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Batman, The Flash, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl, and more.
