This is probably the most first world problem I've ever had, but I think I had quite a bit of fun complaining about it.
I suspect this happened because the ad was in high definition. That would sort of make it Blizzard's fault for assuming everyone has a fast enough internet connection to watch the ad without interruption. I saw lots of other ads that night and none of them kept getting stuck.
The thing that bugs me about this most is that there was no way to get around it. Obviously, if the ad had actually been thirty seconds, then I wouldn't consider this unreasonable at all. But instead, it was 3 minutes long. I couldn't skip the ad and I couldn't put the ad in a lower resolution. The only thing I could do was hit reload and hope a different ad showed up.
I don't think its unreasonable to make ads unskippable, especially after what happened with the Wall Street Journal. But they can't be almost half as long as the video I'm waiting to watch.
Honestly, I think YouTube's advertising is reasonable overall, but I don't think its fair to make me sit through a broken ad. Force me to watch an ad if you must, but please make sure it doesn't crash on takeoff and leave me to wait for it to drag itself back to the launch pad.
