Most of us probably know Jada Pinkett Smith as the wife of the famous actor, Will Smith. And people would recognize Will Smith from his roles as the funny genie in Disney’s 2019 movie Aladdin to being Deadshot in the 2016 DC Extended Universe film, Suicide Squad. While Will and Jada’s son Jaden played the main character in the 2009 movie, The Karate Kid together. The couple’s daughter, Willow also known as Willow Smith, is a singer, actress, and dancer. Jada and Will’s marriage is one of the longest-lasting marriages in Hollywood that even many celebrity couples dub them as their role models when it comes to love and marriage. Well, you could see the ‘love’ and ‘affection’ they give each other on camera. But we never know what happens behind the scenes because, of course, there would be no cameras, unless one of them would come forward and speak the truth. Yeah, just like what Jada did. But before their rocky and not-so fantasy kind of marriage, how did the two meet?
Will and Jada first met in 1994 when Jada auditioned to play Will’s girlfriend in the American sitcom television series, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air which aired on NBC from 1990 to 1996. Unfortunately, Jada did not get the part. In Jada’s show Red Table Talk in 2018, Will was one of the guests in one episode and he shared, “I had a realization I wasn’t with the person I was supposed to be with. I was sitting in a (bathroom) stall and I was crying and laughing uncontrollably, and I knew (Jada) was the woman I was supposed to be with.” After Will’s divorce from Sheree the following year, in 1995, he confidently asked Jada if she was seeing anyone and when she told him she wasn’t seeing anyone, he cooly made his move. “Cool. You’re seeing me now,” he replied.
