The new tenth edition has edited by Clive R Newton QC and Deepak Nagpal and is published by LexisNexis/Family Law. It remains an authoritative specialist text covering all aspects of financial problems arising from the breakdown of a marriage. The edition will almost certainly be updated to review the creation of the Financial Remedies Court, which operates nationally within the Family Court at the end of 2019.
This edition of Jackson appeared at the end of 2019 but before the full impact of the court changes took place. The book brings the content fully up to date with recent developments following reforms and changes to family law procedure at that time including the introduction of the single-family court set up by the Crime and Courts Act 2013.
Newton and Nagpal have also included discussion of the Children and Families Act 2014 including support for those whose parents are separating; the introduction of child arrangement orders (CAOs) (FPR 2010, PD 12) which replaced specific residency and contact orders; plus, the effect of ante-and post-nuptial settlements following the important decisions in Radmacher v Granatino and Luckwell v Limata; and finally, the effect of pensions reform.
