Jackson County commissioners vote to send $105M bond application in for review  @ABC13Channel

In a three-to-two vote at the Monday, Aug. 10, special-called meeting, Jackson County Commissioners approved an application for a $105 million bond referendum to be sent to the Local Government Commission (LGC), the first step in getting the referendum on the Nov. 3 ballot. #school #northcarolina #news

The referendum aims to help the school district complete items on its needs list, including the following projects:

Blue Ridge School, which is estimated to cost between $30 million and $38 million for a new gymnasium, cafeteria, auditorium, and six to eight classrooms.

Proposed New Middle School, which is estimated to cost $110 million, including the original school design that included athletic fields, a track, and classrooms for future growth, the district has already been awarded $52 million for the new school.

District-Wide Capital & Deferred Maintenance Projects aimed at completing maintenance needs across the county.
