very excited to share this! fellow Jackson fan C.E.L.L. brought to my attention an ebay listing for a super rare early promo version of this, what i would call "cult classic" French electronic album by a guy who has often hung out with the Ed Banger team. some artists like Myd have even said that Justice and SebastiAn and them even had heavy inspiration from him, and if you listen to his early work i think you can hear why he says that! anywho, "Smash" has been one of my favorite albums for years, so i jumped at the chance to buy this unheard early version of it to rip it online. and here it is! what stuck out to me right away is the tracklist; 13 tracks to the final album's 14, and the order is completely shuffled, with some tracks with different titles compared to the final as well. the artist is also credited by his original name, just "Jackson" without his computer band, on the cool (and different!) cover art. i'm actually listening for the first time as i write this, and there's another thing: the final album has completely seamless transitions between tracks, but all of these have standalone intros and endings. the mixing and production is also different, what i'd call generally "drier" than the final. you'll see and hear everything as i upload it all. or, if you want the whole album at once, you can go to the link below to get the whole thing. enjoy!
