My thanks to kime for pointing it's actually possible to win the roulette game. Instead of betting everything so that you both end up at zero chips and survive you instead bet small while Benny makes large bets and once you're ahead let the timer run out.

Of course, it doesn't end well but I did overlook it due to the first segment being scripted for Benny to get ahead.
