Do you know what time it is? Snakebite Rap Battles is back this Rap Battle Day, this time delving into the indie game realm. This episode features Hotline Miami’s mentally unstable protagonist, Jacket, against the RPG OFF’s dejected purifier of the world, The Batter, in a battle of bat-brandishing indie antagonists with questionable morals and one goal: murder every enemy in sight.
Happy Rap Battle Day everyone! Snakebite Rap Battles seems to be having more of an indie/niche media focus so far this year, which fits how cut down the production process has become. Not much to say about this one except I had a lot of fun playing both games and I encourage you all to play both of these games if you haven't already. It was a blast to make and I hope you all enjoy it!

jacket hotline miami is the protagonist of indie game hotline miami and side character in hotline miami 2. jacket is mentally troubled and the game follows the silent man as he enacts his vengeance against the russian mob in miami after being egged on by mysterious phone calls. jacket has to clear around 20 levels in hotline miami, with some being incredibly difficult to navigate. as hotline miami progresses, jacket's mental instability is shown as he suffers increased hallucinations throughout the game and loses his grip over reality. in the second half of the game he eventually becomes the target of similar masked killers who are following the instructions of the same phone callers. hotline miami became incredibly popular and is often called one of the most iconic indie games ever made for its 80s vhs aesthetic and challenging but satisfying action.
the batter off is the protagonist of indie game rpg off developed by mortis ghost. off the game follows the batter along his mission to purify the world of off from the phantoms and enemies that fill it. however as the game progresses the morality of his quests and violent actions becomes more and more questionable as more about the batter and his intentions are revealed. the batter off is followed by the judge off a sentient cat who acts as a tutorial and guide as batter goes through each zone of off and clears them. off amassed a cult following in spaces like tumblr due to its eccentric world, characters, and stories. while niche, it has influenced many indie games across the years like undertale omori and oneshot (omori and oneshot unconfirmed).
