Elemental beings associated with winter and the cold are vast in number, but arguably none are as popular as the one called Jack Frost! In the stories he is a mischievous sprite-like being, rarely seen but his presence is felt by the chill in the air, and he paints the landscapes in his wintery art. He has become an icon in winter imagery and the Christmas season in much of winter culture, but where did Jack Frost originate from?
