After I revealed signs that Wallace was not a cold case detective before his conversion, he responded in an interview with Greg Koukl. For the most part he rambled through a lot of really vague excuses that didn’t tell us much about when he started working cold cases - the primary one being that he worked cold cases collaterally before becoming an official cold case detective.
Today I will respond by doing two things:
First, I will sample ways that Wallace seems to inflate his cold case experience through insinuation while trying to avoid direct claims.
And second, I will break down Wallace’s response to examine whether his “I worked cold cases before being a cold case detective” holds up under scrutiny. I’ll be looking not only at how TECHNICALLY true it seems to be but at whether it aligns with the spirit of what he suggests to his audience when promoting himself.
