[YTP] Michael Rosens Last Birthday Hurrah (75th Birthday Collab Entry)

Yeah... I didn't expect this either! I thought I'd make one last effort to pump out something for the birthday collab this year. The birthday collab has always been a very exciting time of the year for the community, and I've always thoroughly enjoyed taking part in them. I had an old project file lying around that I hadn't touched since January that had only the first 10 seconds of what ended up being this video in it - and much to my surprise, I actually had a sudden burst of motivation to make almost 1 minute and 20 seconds of brand new content for it even after I said previously that I was done with Rosen! So I took what I had already made, and repurposed it for the collab within a few weeks of its entry deadline.

So, yeah. Even if this may not be my absolute best work EVER, I was still pretty dang proud of myself for SOMEHOW getting a burst of motivation that I hadn't received in ages! I guess the birthday collab hype got to me, because I had a brief Rosen nostalgia trip in the lead up to the deadline. :D

Now, allow me to clarify: this is NOT a return. I am aware that this video's existence is pretty damn contradictory to what I was talking about in my 'Future' livestream from January - but the only reason I made this was because I legitimately felt like it (after reminiscing on my time in the community over the last 5 years), and that's how it's going to be going forward if I happen to decide to make any more videos for this channel. I could feel like making another YTP tomorrow... in a week... in a month... in a year... in a decade... or, this video could perhaps very well be the final Rosen YTP you will ever see me make.

I have absolutely no idea what's gonna happen from here. And I shouldn't. Because, as I've learnt from making this collab entry, the fun comes from not knowing when the inspiration will strike, and also from being able to secretly work on something without pressure to meet any kind of expectations. And I really loved being able to secretly work on this video, and keep quiet about me being in it up until the collab's release. :)

So, yeah. That's basically my final statement on the state of the NoiceDrinkz channel for the time being. Thanks for helping me celebrate Michael's 75th birthday - and as always, until we meet again:

I was pretty happy with them, and they (kind of?) meet the requirements to be a YTP so I thought, "Ah, why the heck not upload them to the NoiceDrinkz channel." P.S. Yeah, this isn't Michael Rosen. I get it. The fact of the matter is I just haven't had motivation to go near the source for a full classic YTP in a while. I've had practically no ideas. I used to have them ALL THE TIME and now I only have them on rare occasions. And I know I keep using that as my excuse every time I make something different, but it's true. I know I'll make another one at some point but I'm afraid I can't give any pointers as to when that is. I really want to save up some good ideas I come up with gradually so that way the next time I do make a Michael Rosen YTP, it won't be utter crap that I've pushed out for the sake of getting it out there. Hope you guys can understand for the time being. :)

Ya Pluma (The Michael Rosen 72nd Birthday Collab Intro)

This was the intro to The Michael Rosen 72nd Birthday Collab, which can be found here:

As with every Michael Rosen birthday collab, the intro is a Fatboy Slim music video… With Michael Rosen’s head put on all of the characters. For this year’s collab, I wanted to continue the marvellous tradition that was originally started by DrHotelMario. I decided to choose ‘Ya Mama’, as I thought its music video concept perfectly reflected how ridiculous and hectic the collab itself is!

I thought I would upload this by itself without any of the intro text in front of it. I made it in in Adobe After Effects CC, working on and off for about 5 months! It required many, many key-frames, and a crap-ton of masking. I also tossed in a load of motion blur to help the movement of Michael’s head look more realistic. This process was also made a lot more time consuming because of the fact that I LOST THE ENTIRE SECOND MINUTE because of a corrupted AE file back in November. But eventually, I made the decision to not do the entire music video and only do three minutes of it to make sure it fit better as an intro. I am very happy with the result, and I hope you had as much fun watching it as I did making it! :D

When Michael decides to discover more about his family history, he is suddenly thrown into the 1800s Wild West. Now, with the help of his great grandmother Donna, he must attempt to fit in, while also defending himself against the town bandit Richard and his gang. Oh yeah – and he needs to find a way to get home, too!

We hope you enjoyed this collaboration. We’ve all been working our butts off on it for about 9 months straight! Originally, it wasn’t planned to be included in 2018’s birthday collab, but because of time we made the decision to use it as our entries, and we thought it made a great addition. We set out to create a story using a genre that hadn’t really been used much in Rosen YTPs: Western. All of us had a lot of fun making it and watching it come together, and we hope you enjoyed watching it! :D

Of course, living with a 71 year old British poet may seem like it would be fun, but there are without a doubt some compromises.
What will our plum-loving storyteller get up to this time around when Josh tries to accomplish nothing but a simple task?

This was an idea for a little video I got a while back. I whipped it together using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects CS6 in about two days. I wanted to try it out because it was a test for using 3D tracking in After Effects (which I had never tried before and wanted to test how well it did its job), and because I wanted to make something unique that people could still get a laugh out of!
If you like what you see, I might do another one at some stage. I was quite pleased with the result I ended up with here.

Each time Michael reaches the end of a line, the video speeds up by 10%, and the video flips horizontally to indicate that the video has sped up.
